Dr. Sabrina Rood,
Autism Life Coach and Consultant
Thank you for visiting my website!

Following 18 years practicing as a narrative therapist, I am now offering life coaching for neurodivergent adults, as well as consulting services for couples, families, businesses, and others in the community with an interest in better understanding autism and neurodivergence.

I have a passionate commitment to working with autistic and neurodivergent adults, assisting them to accommodate themselves in designing a healthier, more joyful life. The range of services I provide is extensive, and I can connect clients with resources and community.

I hold a doctoral degree (EdD) in counseling psychology from Argosy University (2014) and a master's degree (MA) in counseling psychology from Bethel University (2008). My doctoral dissertation, published in 2014, was "A Qualitative Inquiry Into Bereaved Parent Couples' Relationships Following the Death of Their Child."

I began my work with autistic clients during my doctoral internship, when I had my first autistic adult client. I continue to learn from each autistic individual whom I encounter. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I began to attend both national and international conferences about neurodivergence via Zoom. I developed a particular interest in how autistic and neurodivergent adults are supported in different countries.

As an autism coach and consultant, the services I provide are not therapy or counseling services, and I am not a licensed mental health provider or healthcare provider. I am happy to refer individuals who are seeking these services to licensed providers who can provide psychotherapy, counseling, and assessment.

If you are neurodivergent, whether self-diagnosed or formally diagnosed, I look forward to hearing from you. Our first step in working together will be a 50-minute consultation, either in person or via Zoom or telephone, to discuss your needs and my services, to see if we would be a good fit. I am an LGBTQ ally and practice kindness in all of the parts of my life.
